Wind Turbines Milling Power Station

Universal Engineering have supplied precision machined parts into both the nuclear and oil and gas markets for many years.

We have worked with prime cusotmers to Design and Manufacture sub-sea distribution units, support frames and umbilical termination assemblies.

In the late 90’s, Universal Engineering was contracted by the UKAEA to work on the decommissioning of the Jason reactor in London. (‘Jason’ was a reactor used for training of Naval Submariners at the Old Royal Naval College – Greenwich)

The contract was set to manufacture, test and install the handling equipment required to install the Unifetch flask in the reactor hall, transfer the Jason reactor fuel modules, remove the flask and subsequently transport it by road to BNFL, Sellafield.

This involved building and commissioning a large steel flask-transfer bridge and a flask lid-removal gantry, which were both proof-load and functionally tested offsite before being dismantled, reassembled and subsequently retested on site.

Universal Engineering are also working closely with local and national economic development agencies to secure work in the wind energy markets.
